Can you believe it? ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is only 203 days away from releasing!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is far from old news, and, yet, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is just around the corner as well.

Eclipse, directed by David Slade, releases on June 30, 2010 – much to the delight of Twilight fans.

The film has been a bit of a mystery thus far, as the marketing focus has, appropriately, been upon New Moon.

Yet, the waft of Eclipse is steady as a teaser poster and still frame image from the movie (both preceded by the official title art) have both already been seen for the movie.

Of course, that’s a drop in the bucket of what can be expected from Eclipse, but it’s certainly a good start.

Not to mention, Slade has been a Twitter trooper in getting the goods out to fans along the way.

The film promises a more action-oriented take on the story of Bella Swan (as originally told by Stephenie Meyer in the third Twilight series novel), and it’ll certainly expound upon the emotional triangle that exists between the leading … um … man (vampire) of the series, Edward Cullen (as portrayed by Robert Pattinson), the protagonist (portrayed by Kristen Stewart), and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

There are a host of new castmembers in the film, too, including Boo Boo Stewart (Seth Clearwater), Julia Jones (Leah Clearwater), Kirsten Prout (Lucy), Xavier Samuel (Riley), Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria), and Alex Rice (Sue Clearwater). Jones, Stewart, Prout, and Samuel all attended the premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon in November, and a still of Samuel as Riley was tweeted by Slade sometime during production.

No doubt, Eclipse will make as many waves on the summer circuit has New Moon did for the fall this year, but when exactly all of the talk will begin is as yet unknown.

Still, there’ve already been some discussions floating around about what sorts of scenes Twilight fans can look forward to seeing (or, perhaps, want to see) in the picture. As one of the lengthier installments of the book series, Eclipse the film will probably be a very involved movie with many, various elements and crucial scenes.

So, to celebrate the coming release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the quote series will be kicking off very soon right here, and your input and recommendations are appreciated (be they by e-mail or comments below). As a start, here’s an excerpt from the preface.

This is certainly an exhilarating teaser offered in the book’s preface, and it really does set the stage for what comes to pull the theme of the series’ prefaces together nicely. With Twilight and New Moon, the prefaces were much the same – impending doom lurks ominously, and the mission is to overcome and survive. Fun way to begin, naturally. Hook, line, and sinker.
