Book One - Marked

I was like ten and I put milk in a plastic cup and milo. I then put a plastic lid on it and put it in the microwave for two minutes. I took out the cup, quickly put my thumb over the top of the lid and shook it. I stumbled, stubbed my toe and released my thumb. The hot milk and milo exploded and burnt my nose, cheeks, chin, lips and inside my mouth which I had opened to gasp after hurting my toe. Sugar burns are really bad because the sugar gets stuck on your skin, I screamed heaps, we had to use numbing cream on my face to get it to a point where it hurt like half as much. On top of everything the cup and lid were warped because I put them in the microwave for too long and they weren't even microwavable. Oh and a fortnight later I had to have my picture taken, my face and hair matched! I'm a klutz.

OOOOWWWW that sounds soooo painful!!! did it scar? poor you!!!

I have like, pure white skinso scars don't show up much after a few months but there is a noticeably paler bit on my chin which appeared after that, but it's just barely noticeable.

aw its good it doesn't show too much, i scar really easily & shows loads when i tan, very annoying x

At least you tan, bright red for me, trust me, red on red does not look good, I can't spend more than fifteen minutes at a time in the sun without sun cream or a hat:(

aw really? that must be so bad! im very dark [on skin, like very dark brown hair, dark eyes etc] so always go very brown in the sun and never burn, i am lucky.

haha it is clever isn't it, i love that a female is the vampire lead for once, so it's nice to have a different view on everything, especially with a human boy being involved!

another thing similar to my book. For once, the girl isn't a normal human who can't save herself for God's sake...

that's why i love it as well. girl power! glad yours is the same!

haha very true! although i'm fairly traditional, if a man wants to go out and work and me stay and have kids to sit on my bum all day, i'm all for it although, i would get bored. so i would change my tune pretty quickly!

i hate weak girl characters though, so it's always nice to read about strong ones for a change!x
