We're one step closer to hearing official word that Breaking Dawn will be two movies.
Bill Condon, of Dreamgirls directing fame, is the top runner on Summit's list to direct the final movie(s?) in the Twilight saga. No one's signed on the dotted line yet, but the studio and director are currently in negotiations, according to Deadline.com.
Unnamed sources also say Breaking Dawn will, as widely speculated, be divided into two movies. This news, albeit unofficial, must be bittersweet for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Both stars were hoping for two scripts, but they were also rooting for Gus Van Sant to land the gig.
"He just makes stunning movies," Kristen spills to MTV. "I just love his work. All of his movies are so true to how people [are] ... they are just more realistic. They've got so much depth."
Robert Pattinson piggybacks Kristen saying, "[Breaking Dawn]'s all about teenage love and obsessions. I think Gus Van Sant would be great."
