We have some very intriguing entertainment news for you, in a week that's been heavy with celebrity health issues. Here's some fun: Kristen Stewart has reportedly just been cast for the upcoming Bollywood film Paani...is Robert Pattinson jealous?!
The entertainment world knows that when a star finds a place in India's glittery film industry, it's a near-guarantee for international recognition. If this latest report is true and big-time Bollywood director Shekhar Kapur has really cast Stewart in his flick, then Kristen Stewart is about to pioneer new roads linking Hollywood to Bollywood. This is huge.
However, Kapur says not to think so fast. He has cast his male lead, but Kristen Stewart is only under consideration, with Kapur tweeting this on Tuesday: "Kristen Stewart fr Paani: ppl jumpng to conclusions, she's terrific n lv her, bt we have had just 1 conv so far." [sic] But Kapur is about to direct a biopic that Julia Roberts is producing...so it's clear his ties to Hollywood's biggest starlets are growing.
Paani, which means "water" in Hindu, is expected to highlight life in the slums of Mumbai, India. If Kristen Stewart gets to humbly play a part in the flick, insiders say it could be a threat to the career of her boyfriend and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson -- one blogger points out, "Robert Pattinson may feel a little jealous that her girl has landed an international film before he could act in one." We don't see this being the case, but Stewart's potential co-star, Bollywood babe Hrithik Roshan, could be a little international competition for the British beau. If Stewart takes the Paani part, it's possible she'll start taping in Mumbai this year.
