Fallout from the 8.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan reached all the way to the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, where production of the movie “Breaking Dawn” was briefly interrupted when about 125 cast and crew members were moved from a beachfront hotel to a nearby base camp because of the tsunami advisory.
“The crew was moved to higher ground today as a safety precaution this morning,” said Toni Atterbury, a spokeswoman for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” the two-film project from Summit Entertainment that began filming in November and is based in Vancouver. “The shoot was delayed for a few hours, but the day’s work was accomplished.”
Despite evacuations in coastal areas of Hawaii, no productions were affected, said Georja Skinner, the state’s film commissioner.
