It’s been reported that the final instalment of the Twilight series Breaking Dawn may in fact be split into two movies - given fans another dose of Robert Pattinson vampire goodness, Taylor Lautner werewolf mayhem... and err, Kristen Stewart getting a bit hot and bothered again.
Shooting has already wrapped on Eclipse, the third movie in the vampire saga, and now speculation is increasing over how Summit Entertainment plan to approach the Stephanie Meyer’s final Twilight novel.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon has taken a massive two-week $481 million worldwide gross, meaning the chance to shoot a fifth film would be financially lucrative.
Of course, it would also create another mouth-watering movie for Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner fans to sink their teeths into.
Sources have apparently told Variety that Summit plans to split the final book into two separate movies, to be shot back to back.
Both films would likely be scripted by Melissa Rosenberg, who has penned the first three adaptations in the franchise - but Meyer must first approve the two-movie decision
One of the key impediments to breaking Breaking Dawn in two is that Summit would have to reopen negotiations Rob, Taylor and Kristen Stewart, who are only signed up for four films. It’s thought that the stars could command payment in the eight-figure range.
Summit are also said to be circling New Moon director Chris Weitz for Breaking Dawn, which would certainly meet with approval from Kristen and Taylor.
Kristen said: "I think Chris Weitz should do it. I had such a good experience with him on New Moon.
“He was so considerate and there and passionate and compassionate. One of the nicest guys I've ever met in my life."
Taylor added: "Chris is amazing. Flawless. He's so relaxed, and he really cares about our opinions, and he truly cares about this project. He cares about the books, he cares about the series." | |
