She did it!
Remember way back when when MTV did a survey asking which Twilight star would first be nominated for an Oscar? Robert Pattinson got half the vote. Anna Kendrick took 1% of the vote. But now Anna Kendrick is the first, with an Oscar nomination for her role in Up in the Air.
Don't get me wrong; I love Anna Kendrick as Jessica Stanley in Twilight, but it's definitely not an Oscar-winning role. However, Anna Kendrick in Up in the Air? Now that clearly is an Oscar-winning role. Or an Oscar-nominated on at least.
Anna says of her nomination, "I am thrilled beyond words to be nominated with these talented and inspiring women... Being involved in a film as special as Up in the Air was a dream come true. I am overwhelmed and honored by this nomination and am so grateful to be able to share this experience with George, Vera [Farmiga] and [director] Jason [Reitman]."
And Anna Kendrick really is modest (and totally adorable). After her nomination, she posted on her Twitter account, "I'd love to say that 140 characters couldn't cover how I'm feeling right now... But I'm honestly speechless." Love the girl!
So, Anna is the first Twilight star who's made it big in terms of Oscars and Golden Globes. I want to know who will be next. Still think Robert Pattinson has an Oscar nomination in him?
