Summit Entertainment has confirmed that they are re-shooting Twilight Saga: Eclipse. But there are more news to it, it is reported that Summit will do the re-shoot without David Slade the director of the third instalment of the Twilight series. It is said that the production house has roped in Catherine Hardwicke and Chris Weitz the first two directors of the first two films respectively to see the re-shoot. This later piece of news seemed a bit strange because previously it was reported that that Summit was not happy with these two directors’ works. So if some portions were to be re-shot, one would expect a well equipped director to oversee it.
As the report continued, the sequences to be shot are a fight sequences and a meadow shot where Edward and Bella shares the screen space together. But Summit has issued a statement after the reports of re-shooting started making rounds, saying that the picture is not in “trouble” and they are very happy with Slade’s work. This shoot had been planned for months and the shots are going to be “pick-up shots”. Which now days many films do and it has nothing to do with re-shooting a scene. It’s planned out during the productions. Summit has also confirmed that none of the pick-up shots will be meadow scenes or the fight scenes.
Though Summit has not confirmed whether Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart or Taylor Lautner will be part of the pick-up shoots, but it is rumoured that all are making way to Vancouver. To accommodate Pattinson’s Bel Ami shoot the Twilight people will do the three day shoot within 18 hours.
