| Elena, the BSC Grand Moff, gets a new character to write about from one of her favorite news show! We will have to wait until next year, but EW is reporting that Mia Kirshner will be joining the cast of The Vampire Diaries, taking on the the role of Isobel.
Isobel is the wife of Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis,), Mystic Falls’ new history teacher (man, I need to become a teacher). She is described as “sweet-yet-dangerous”, and will appear via flashbacks. She is set to appear on January 21st, which is the episode that marks the return of the show from its break. The report indicates that Isobel is dead and is so by the hands of a known character (book fans may chime in and know more). Kirshner is a welcomed and familiar figure from the L-Word and 24.
