Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have thanked The Vampire Diaries fans for their support of the show.
Writing after their appearance at the Paley Festival yesterday, the duo - Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert respectively - also apologised for their abrupt departure.
"For everyone who came to the Paley festival to see us: Thank you so so much for spending time with us," Somerhalder wrote.
"Your questions and support are so very appreciated and this wouldn't be what it is without you... Sorry that we couldn't spend more time, seriously sorry. with love, Ian".
Dobrev added: "Wooow what a weekend. Paley was great-sorry we couldn't stay to sign, we got pulled away! Oscar Event was intense but very cool. Back in ATL".
The Vampire Diaries continues Thursdays at 8pm on The CW in the US and Tuesdays at 9pm on ITV2 in the UK.
