THE SKINNY: In a quick turnaround move from Dimension Films, the role of SCREAM 4's heroine will now go to NANCY DREW and VALENTINE'S DAY actress Emma Roberts.
The role was originally set to go to TWILIGHT's Ashley Greene, but for whatever reason negotiations fell out. MTV contacted Greene's rep for their take on the matter, who only replied "No comment."
Roberts will assume the role of Jill, the cousin of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and heroine of the film. The role is expected to be similar to that of Campbell's in the original trilogy.
Roberts joins newcomers Rory Culkin, Lake Bell, and Hayden Panettiere, as well as SCREAM alum Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell in the fourth installment, which is expected to begin filming late June.
