| Subject: Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner Won’t Be at the Video Music Awards 2010 Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:59 am | |
| MTV’s Video Music Awards for 2010 are this weekend but fans of the “Twilight” franchise hoping to see their three idols at least on the red carpet will be disappointed to hear they won’t be in attendance.
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, also known as the “Twilight” trio, won’t be at this year’s VMAs, E! Online has learned.
Though fans may have expected to see them there, there’s really no reason for the three to put in an appearance, the e-zine says.
They have no “Twilight” movie to promote right now (“Breaking Dawn” isn’t out until next year) and they’re too busy with other projects to take the time out to work the red carpet.
This, of course, isn’t to say other members of the “Twilight” cast won’t attend. If they’re lucky, fans may get to see Kellan Lutz or Ashley Greene or other stars playing members of the Cullen clan or the Wolf Pack.
“Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are not – we repeat, not – expected to attend the big Chelsea Handler-hosted shindig. It’ll be weird without them, but with no projects (i.e., Breaking Dawn) to promote, there’s no major reason for the trio to be there,” E! writes.
“Plus, they’re busy. Rob’s been on holiday while Kristen and Taylor are off filming nonbloodsucking projects,” the e-zine further says.
“No word on other Twi- plans for the VMAs, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some of the vampire saga’s other costars show up at the VMAs to represent,” E! notes.
However, if fans are too disappointed about this, there’s still some good news for them, the publication writes: Summit Entertainment is celebrating Bella’s birthday by re-releasing “Eclipse” in theaters.
Speaking of Summit, we also informed you yesterday that the movie studio is now considering the option of not letting the franchise end with the second “Breaking Dawn” film.
A while back, Stephenie Meyer released an “Eclipse” spinoff novella called “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner,” and Summit is reportedly thinking of making it into a movie as well.
If true, this would mean the “Twilight” film franchise may end up to include 6 films, extending well into 2013. | |
